The National Institute of Corrections (NIC) is committed to making our information and communication technologies, including our websites, accessible to individuals with disabilities by meeting or exceeding the requirements of Section 508 of the Rehabilitation Act of 1973, as amended.

Under Section 508, we are required to provide individuals with disabilities access to electronic and information technology and data comparable to those who do not have disabilities, unless an undue burden would be imposed on us. Reasonable Accommodations

Executive Order 13164 directs all federal agencies to establish procedures to facilitate the provision of reasonable accommodations for employees and job applicants with disabilities. Pursuant to this Executive Order and our continuing obligations under the Rehabilitation Act of 1973, the Department has established policies and instructions to provide reasonable accommodation.
