Evidence-Informed Practices in the Management and Operations of Women's Prisons is a 32-hour instructor-led, in-person training designed to assist senior managers and administrators of women's facilities in the operational management, correctional policy, and practices that are affected by sex differences. Participants participate in learning activities that clarify sex differences while avoiding an over-identification of issues that may be common to male and female populations. The training supports development of effective, evidence-informed operational policies tailored to the needs of incarcerated women. Emphasizing shared learning and best practices, this program helps managers design policies, staffing plans, and services that meet the distinct needs of female populations, while avoiding assumptions based on male-oriented practices.
