The National Institute of Corrections is partnering with the Utah Criminal Justice Center (UCJC) to provide an innovative blended training on Facilitating Behavior Change (FBC). The training is multi-part with both a Virtual Instructor Led Training (VILT) introduction session and in-person Instructor Led Training (ILT)
The FBC curriculum is intended to help correctional organizations provide staff with the fundamentals of "core correctional practices" with a particular focus on promoting behavior modification and reinforcement. The topics covered in this training can make interactions more productive, promote behavior change, and reduce misconduct. This training is ideal for case management and re-entry staff with direct contact with individuals in custody who are new to the concepts of Core Correctional Practices and the Risk-Need-Responsivity (RNR) model. Whether staff are seasoned professionals looking to enhance communication skills or a newcomer eager to learn best practices, this training is tailored to benefit correctional professionals at all levels.
