Description of the Program

This offering is a two-day training, designed as an experiential, hands-on opportunity to use an NIC, evidenced based methodology for analyzing and updating institutional classification tools. Participants will be led through activities to review risk and needs factors scoring assessment processes that have evolved in response to changes in the agency's internal and external sociopolitical environment. The training objectives address the urgent demands correction agencies face due to significant changes in the size and nature of their population, to address programming services, system integrity and confidence, institutional and public safety and to facilitate effective re-entry planning.

The target audience for participants are Directors/Administrators of Classification, whose function is to manage the agency assessment tools via staff training, utilization, and integrity.

Participants will be notified of specific documents to have available for the training.
