NIC recently hosted Executive Leadership Training for New Wardens at the National Corrections Academy in Aurora, CO. The training has four components:

  • Prerequisite assignments
  • Virtual orientation to the program and instruments
  • In-Person instruction
  • Post-training coaching

The curriculum is designed to keep participants engaged from the start of the program to the end. During the course, many attendees leave with a better realization their behavior and actions have a huge impact on the culture and attitude of their staff.

One student described their experience as follows:

Thank you so much for providing me with this valuable training opportunity.  Your team did an amazing job.  I have never been in a training that had so much interaction between the class members and the educators.  I believe that I will be able to improve my leadership skills based on the valuable information provided and the networking from the other facilities.

To provide support beyond the training, participants will be contacted once a month by their assigned instructor/facilitator to work on a SMART goal identified during the program.
