Description of the Program

The National Institute of Corrections is providing an 8-hour informational session to address staff sexual misconduct within community supervision agencies - while supporting a culture of zero tolerance.

During this informational session, probation/parole executives, supervisors and line-staff will:

  • Define staff sexual misconduct and exploitation
  • Explore a process to maintain professional boundaries
  • Understand the relationship between agency policy and practice
  • Discuss victim-centered techniques to address trauma
  • Develop a safe environment for incident reporting
  • Establish a process for effective documentation and accountability
  • Establish a foundation to reduce liability through prevention
  • Establish an organizational plan to achieve zero tolerance for staff sexual misconduct
