Description of the Program

For over 30 years, the National Institute of Corrections (NIC) has been the industry standard for staffing analysis within the corrections community, providing a structured methodology crucial for navigating the unprecedented staffing shortages of today. In an era where robust staffing strategies are paramount for ensuring the safety of staff, the public, and those in custody, NIC's comprehensive analysis process enables agencies to gather and interpret vital data, leading to optimized resource utilization, informed policy adjustments, and substantiated staffing requests. Agencies participating in this program will gain extensive hands-on experience in all staffing analysis steps and processes, benefiting from live virtual training, practical application, and coaching as they conduct an analysis of custodial line officers and first-line supervisors from their own facilities, ultimately equipping them to analyze the remaining agency staff.
