NIC’s Regional Training Initiative (RTI) functions as a national network, coordinated though four regions, that enables NIC to support correctional training nationwide. It is supported by the NIC Academy Division and relies on volunteer correctional trainers called Regional Field Coordinators (RFCs) to provide professional development, resource sharing, and networking opportunities to their peers in local, state, and federal correctional agencies throughout the nation. RFCs come together, in-person, each year to plan and organize correctional training and capacity building initiatives within their respective regions.
Through its regional focus, NIC supports the delivery of corrections-related training and the development of training resources at a minimal cost to local and state governments. It is a cost-effective means of increasing training resources, training capacity, and information dissemination among training professionals from jails, prisons, community corrections, tribal agencies, and the Federal Bureau of Prisons.
Some NIC programs utilize NIC's Learn Center.
We encourage you to create an account on NIC's Learn Center if you don't already have one.
